About this blog

I have been working as a BI professional for 30 years, during which I have also given back a lot to the BI community: teaching, presenting at conferences, consulting, and (mostly in the last decade) publishing content.

But this content is fleeting, unless concentrated and organized, and I feel that I still have a lot of knowledge to spread around. So I have been fantasizing for several years about starting a blog called “BI Stories”, and the time has come to deliver.

The original idea was to create a mix of technical articles and stories from my experience, many of which are still valid for today’s BI profession. I am not abandoning this concept, but the content will be divided into three types:

Articles – longer, technical content about a chosen subject. Nowadays this will mostly be about Tableau, but not always.

Tiny Tips – short posts with a specific tip, trying to focus on information that I haven’t seen documented or explained elsewhere.

Stories – stories from the past, hopefully with information and techniques that will be useful even far into the future.

Obviously there won’t be much content at the beginning, but my intent is to post an article or story at least once a month, and tips more frequently. I promise to do my best.
